In addition to drawbacks acknowledged by everybody, milk and dairy products seem to be blacklisted by the most recent scientific discoveries which show that adopting a cow's milk based diet certainly causes a real traumatism to babies' systems, followed by a period of more or less important pathological disorders, and finally, an apparent adaptation which hides, in fact, numerous lifelong functional disorders.
For teenagers and grown-ups, the damage is of course less dramatic, but it still exists in the form of demineralization, inflammations or toxin build-up in tissues which are likely to result in induration (hardening of body tissues) or even certain cancers! In concrete terms, research led in countries where dairy products are consumed in excess such as Switzerland, France or the United States, has demonstrated higher cancer rates compared to countries consuming dairy products fewer than average.

 Difficult to digest

Raw cow's milk is particularly difficult to digest which is one of its numerous known and long acknowledged drawbacks. Indeed, an adult human stomach does not contain rennet which, in a veal stomach, allows the milk to curdle. A human body must therefore produce lactase in great quantities to digest milk. In the meantime, the digestion process is blocked while fermentation and other decomposition start. This is why milk very often is converted into yogurt or cheese which are both predigested. However, the huge quantity of animal fat contained in most cheeses still makes them rather difficult to digest by people with a poor hepatobiliary system. This is a real problem, also shared by fat meat and cooked meat; thus, eating bread together with full-fat cheese is not the best idea. Furthermore, non-organic milk or dairy products prove to be highly toxic since all pesticides, insecticides, and antibiotic residues concentrate in the white cells produced by cows. Consequently, unskimmed milk and full-fat non-organic cheeses contain contaminants in much greater proportion than any chemically processed vegetables. Finally, milk and dairy products count among the most allergen food as milk intolerance induces numerous and insidious digestive disorders.

Milk, demineralization and...

Milk proteins, regardless of the type of milk, pass on information specific to the species it belongs to enabling ossein production, in other words the capacity for bones to retain minerals. In this case too, it is obvious that information delivered by cow's milk proteins is totally unsuited to human beings. Consequently the body of a baby deprived of human milk and fed with cow's milk will not have the correct information to produce its ossein, thus being unable to mineralize properly. When growing up, the lack of ossein will cause his body to eliminate in an excessive way minerals contained in the blood, and to deposit them in tissues, which will become the subject of calculi, cysts and other induration.
Moreover, milk mineralizing properties are grossly overrated, this being mainly due to the poor quality of the milk commercialized – outside the organic distribution channel; whether pasteurized, sterilized, or UHT, milk is devitalized and its minerals can hardly be used by the metabolism.

 ...hormonal function disruption

The presence of specifically bovine hormones, carrying information (rapid weight gain) unsuited to the slower human growth, actually disrupts a baby’s hormonal functions that are controlled by his pituitary gland. As information is involved, the actual quantity of milk absorbed does not really matters; even very small quantities deliver the message.

 Milk, a calcium snatcher!

Although highly recommended for children for its calcium, milk is definitely not a food designed for human beings.
Indeed, as regards calcium, it would seem that the calcium contained in cow's milk couldn’t be correctly assimilated by human beings. The excessively high calcium concentration in cow's milk makes it dangerous, as not only does it lead to induration due to a lack of ossein, but also it almost fully inhibits the action of magnesium, thus weakening the nerve and muscular cells.
And last but not least, cow's milk is too rich in phosphor, and for this reason, it may be responsible for a relative hyperparathyroidism.

 Breast-feeding vs. bottle-feeding

The only milk that is suitable for an infant is his mother’s, because it corresponds to its heredity, gender, and physiology. As milk composition differs, it is a serious mistake to give to an infant milk which is not intended for him

In addition, mothers remember that all exogenous poisons (nicotine, caffeine, alcohol, chemical additives, etc.) pass through their milk.
Furthermore, by refusing the warmth and physical bonding indispensable to their child, mothers who choose not to breast-feed, widely increase their own risks of tumor (breast, genital) because reproduction, pregnancy, and breast-feeding are 3 links of the same natural and synergic chain.

Cow’s milk is designed for baby cows

Cow’s milk may also be blamed for many other drawbacks, including of course its profusion of saturated fatty acids, lactic acid and estrogens, but also its poverty in lactose:
- Profusion of fatty acids
Compared with human breast milk which mainly contains polyunsaturated fatty acids, cow's milk heavily strains the liver of an infant - and that of an adult - because of its large lipid molecules while not providing an infant’s brain with the type of fats allowing for its development, much faster and significant than in bovines.

Two fatty acids found in mother’s milk, the docosa-hexaenoic acid (DHA) and the arachidonic acid (AA) play a crucial part in a child brain development. A research team from Rockefeller University (New York) has just quantified this implication. In a double-blind randomized clinical trial, 18-month infants fed special formula milk containing these 2 nutrients, very similar in form to those found in human milk, showed a 7-point advantage on average in mean Bayley’s mental development index over infants deprived of them. This is another evidence for mother’s milk ideal composition. Fatty acids used in this study had a vegetable origin. (Developmental Medicine and Child Neurology).
- Excess of lactic acid
Lactic acid in excess can quickly become toxic and lead to the proliferation of tumor cells.
- and of estrogens
As for estrogenic substances, it is well-known that they promote male fertility decline and genital cancers. However it should be noted that milk is not the only food to contain excessive concentrations of estrogens.
- Low content in lactose
Finally, cow's milk low content in lactose, compared with human milk, is almost certainly responsible for unbalanced bowel flora and strongly reduced protection against pathogenic germs in infant body.
In fact proteins in the human lacto-serum (whey) contain many antibodies absolutely indispensable for infants, because their system has not yet developed intestinal immunity. Deprived of their mother’s milk, babies are already in great danger; but fed with cow's milk they become exposed, additionally, to the proliferation of all kinds of parasites.

Nevertheless, milk retains a place in the medicine cabinet because it remains an extraordinary antidote. Various studies have showed for example that it could effectively fight lead poisoning, which is so frequent in polluted cities.

Whey

The residue from milk after cheese curdling is often thrown or given to animals, although it abounds in vitamins and minerals, and would prove beneficial in cures, especially at intestinal and hepatobiliary level.
Whey, the product that remains after the removal of most of the casein and fat from milk, does not present the numerous drawbacks associated with cow's milk. In fact, the major advantage of whey over milk is that it has kept the best part from milk and has left the worst in the cheese. The best part is a lot of minerals, including more than 50 % of the calcium contained in milk plus zinc and potassium as well as a great quantity of vitamin B2.
Furthermore, whey has a low sodium content and naturally contributes to dechlorination.
Whey is also very well balanced in amino acids, thus contributing to the best possible assimilation of its proteins, especially since there is no casein, which is the most allergen. Eventually, whey contains orotic acid and lactic acid which help to remineralize the system, regenerate bowel flora and detoxify the body. Whey is effective to treat both skin-related disorders and digestive problems.

Main indications

*Intestinal disorders: generally speaking, whey benefits the gastro-intestinal tract, regulates bowel movements, and treats irritations, inflammations, or gas/flatulence quite gently. Ideal in case of constipation, hemorrhoids, colitis, or bloating.
*Hepatobiliary disorders: disinfects the gastro-intestinal tract, thus relieving the liver in its detoxification task. That is why a whey cure completes jaundice or gallstone treatments.
*Skin problems: they greatly benefit from a cure of whey which cleans the skin (in case of eczema or acne, and many other skin disorders).
*Cholesterol: a 3-week cure of whey has showed its capacity to reduce blood lipid level and cholesterol level by up to 40 %.
*Obesity and overweight: acting both as an appetite suppressant and a diuretic, whey is recommended for slimming diets. Furthermore, it stimulates blood circulation, which also makes it a good choice in the case of edemas.
*Hypertension: through its dechlorinating, diuretic, detoxifying and blood fluidifying properties, it helps restore a better-balanced tension.
*Spasmophilia: whey contains orotates, potassium and magnesium, which sometimes can have a beneficial influence on spasmophilia.
*General fatigue: rich in easily assimilated minerals and vitamins, it has a rejuvenating and energizing effect in case of fatigues, stress and asthenia.
*Kidney fatigue: detoxifying, disinfecting and diuretic, whey drains the kidneys, and can sometimes contribute to dissolve some calculi.
The health cure
It goes without saying that whey used for a health cure must be organic. You may buy it from health food shops where it is available as a concentrated liquid (Molkosan for instance), tablets or granules to which water is added to reconstitute this therapeutic drink.
The daily cure is as follows: drink 1/2 liter in the morning at breakfast, then 1/4 liter at 10 a.m. and 1/4 liter at 5 p.m., for 1 to 3 weeks. Whey cure must be started and stopped gradually (increase the daily intake by 1/4 liter until reaching 1 liter, then, at the end of the cure, decrease by 1/4 liter a day). To finish, combining a cure of whey with a diet and/or detoxifying phytotherapies can only increase its efficiency!
